Create a custom engraved wooden map of your favorite location. This makes an unforgettable gift for weddings, anniversaries, housewarmings, new adventures, and the places that feel like home.

Map style options
We can create:

• Topographic maps (elevation contour lines)
• Road maps (major roads)
• A mix of both

For mountainous areas we usually suggest topographic maps. For cities or larger towns we suggest road maps. For locations with a bit of both, we can combine roads and topographic lines.

What we need from you (required)
Please enter all details in the personalization box so we can design your map with minimal back and forth:

• The location name (city, lake, area, or landmark)
• A Google Maps link to the exact spot (especially helpful if the area is hard to find)
• Any landmarks or labels that you would like included
• What you would like written on the bottom border
• Please include your preferred map style (topographic, roads, or a mix). If no style is specified, we will choose what looks best for the location.

Bottom border ideas
Most people choose the location name plus coordinates. You can also add names, dates, and a short phrase. Some popular examples:
Where it all began, The Adventure Begins, The Story of Us, Our First Kiss, She Said Yes, Our Happy Place, Our First Home, Home is Wherever You Are, Bible verses, and more.

Custom map queue and timing
Custom maps are designed and produced in limited batches as our schedule allows between wholesale and market production. When you place an order, you are reserving a spot in our custom map queue.
Start times vary. Sometimes we can begin within a week, and sometimes it may be several weeks or longer during busy seasons. If you need your map by a specific date, please contact us before ordering. If we cannot meet your timeline, we recommend choosing one of our in-stock maps or another product instead.

Proofing and revisions (please read)
You will receive a digital proof when we begin your design.

• One revision round of small edits is included.
• All edits must be sent in one message. Multiple emails or messages sent one at a time count as additional revision rounds.
• Additional revision rounds are available for a fee. Approx. $15 (small) or $30 (large).
• Major changes such as zooming out to include more area, changing the map location, or changing the overall map style require rebuilding the design and may involve an additional design fee. We will always confirm with you before proceeding.
• Please reply with approval or your full list of edits within 7 days of receiving your proof. If we do not hear back, your order may be paused until we receive a response and your timeline may extend.

How it is made
Your custom map is engraved onto three separate layers of 1/8 inch Baltic birch, then carefully hand painted and glued together to create the layered effect.

Wood is naturally unique
Because wood is a natural material, grain and tone will vary. Each map is one of a kind.
